ten minutes a day. ten thousand words.

Mò is a quiet, opinionated iOS app for drilling Chinese vocabulary into long-term memory. FSRS spaced repetition, native Chirp 3 HD audio for every word, character components annotated with radical etymology. 1,000 HSK 3.0 frequency-ordered words at launch.

No accounts. No ads. No streak guilt. Open it, do today's session, close it. Come back tomorrow.

Common questions

The app shows "enough for today" but I want to keep going.
Tap study more on the done screen. Each tap adds 10 cards to today's allowance.

How do I get to settings?
Tap the gear icon next to your day-streak counter on the home page, or long-press the streak itself in a session.

Can I reset everything and start over?
Yes. Settings → reset all progress. The double-confirm protects you from accidents; once confirmed it nukes every card's review state but keeps the bundled vocab and audio in place.

Will my progress sync to another device?
Not yet. v1 is single-device by design. Your review history lives in Mò's local storage on this device only.

Why does my failed card come back so quickly?
That's the science working. New and learning cards cycle through short steps (≈1 minute, ≈10 minutes) before they graduate into days/weeks. Failing pulls them right back to the start — that's exactly how you learn them.

Will it work offline?
Yes. Everything — 1,000 words, 1,200 audio recordings, sentences, radicals — is bundled into the app. The app makes no network calls during a session.

About

Mò is made by Urban Algorithm, LLC. The vocabulary list is sourced from krmanik/HSK-3.0, the character decomposition data from CJKVI IDS, and the spaced-repetition scheduler is the open-source swift-fsrs. Audio is rendered through Google Cloud's Chirp 3 HD voices. Fonts are Noto Serif SC, Cormorant Garamond, and JetBrains Mono — all under open licenses.
